Closing the RDP window with the X only disconnects — Tally keeps running in the background. A full sign-out (Start → your name → Sign out) is cleaner, especially on a shared login.
Sign out vs. disconnect
Closing the Remote Desktop window with the X button only disconnects you — your session and any open programs, including Tally, keep running in the background. This is fine occasionally, but leaving many sessions open can slow things down for everyone.
To fully sign out
- Close Tally properly first (Ctrl+Q or File > Quit) so company data is saved cleanly.
- Click the Start menu inside the cloud desktop.
- Click your user name, then choose Sign out.
Do this at the end of each working day, especially if you share a login with other staff.
